    Description

Circa 1951 New Jersey Turnpike - 118 Miles Delaware Bridge to Fort Lee pendant/medallion. The Turnpike took 23 months to build, 1950 - 1952. The official opening was on November 5, 1951. Those who have travelled “the Jersey Turnpike” as I did back in the 1950’s and 1960’s, remember the toll booths and also the Howard Johnson restaurants located at about 45 mile intervals. The brass medallion, manufactured by Souvenirs, Inc., measures approx. 1.46" (37mm) all sides and is in excellent condition with luster and a patina. Holed by the manufacturer.
