    Description

    Patent date of 1888, this is an antique dental hammer.  It measures 9 inches long at the handle and the top is 2.5 x .75 inches.  This came from the estate of a hammer tool collector, and the previous owner identified the type of hammers he collected.  This has a maker's mark of K & D on one side, and the other a patent date of February 28, 1888.  He labeled it as 1886, but I think it is 1888.  One side has a brass face, the other has a leather.  It has been used and has scratches and the wood handle has discoloration along with some tape and labels as shown.  Estate find.
