Late 1800's Silver Plate Souvenir Spoon, Asbury Park, NJ!
Developed in 1871 as a residential resort by New York entrepreneur James A. Bradley, the central New Jersey Coast city was named for Francis Asbury, first American Bishop of the United States Methodist Episcopal Church. Its development was prompted by the the founding of Ocean Grove, a strict Methodist "camp meeting" to its south, in 1869. Up to 600,000 people a year enjoyed vacationing in Asbury Park during the summer season.
The spoon is approximately 4¼" long. It is ornately decorated.
It is in great condition.
